Projects
Since Earthex Logistics’ launch in 1994 we have delivered numerous challenging projects on time and within budget. Just some of our successful projects include:
Works Infrastructure Pty Ltd, A Division of Downer Edi Ltd
- July 2006 – November 2006. More than 200,000 tons of sand hauled from Meve to Huntingdale in Western Australia
- June 2006 – October 2006. The Stirling Remediation Project involved a $1.2 million contract to haul 100,000 m³ of peat, to the North of Wanneroo, Perth, and importing 200,000 tons of sand
- June 2003 – June 2004. A $3.3 million contract to haul 280,000 lcm from Roselea Residential Estate in Perth and replace it with 700,000 tons of sand. Twelve of Earthex Logistic’s 27.5 m long vehicles were used to successfully complete this 12-month project.
- December 2004 – August 2005. this $1 million contract saw Earthex Logistics provide transport services for Rio Tinto’s Tunkawanna Rail Duplication Project in Tom Price, WA
- September 2004 – February 2005. This $330,000 contract required us to haul 150,000 tons of rail blast
- We have been engaged on various haulage projects and hourly hire jobs over the years for Macmahon
- Our scalping screens have been used to create rail ballast for contracts Macmahon have been awarded by BHP Billiton Iron Ore and Hamersley Iron.
- February 2007 – March 2009. As part of this major state infrastructure project extending a key WA highway, Earthex Logistics was contracted to load and haul approx 1,000,000 m³ of sand for the Alliance which included MRWA, Leighton and WA Limestone as consortium partners.
- The Pluto LNG Project is set to become the fastest developed LNG project from discovery of the gas field in 2005 to the production of first gas in late 2010
- The $12 billion project will process gas from the Pluto and Xena gas fields, located in the Carnarvon Basin about 190km north-west of Karratha, Western Australia
- Earthex Logistics is loading and hauling 1.25 million tons of seawall armour and general fill material for the construction of the Burrup Materials Facility component of the project for Woodside
- The project started in July with a target set for completion in March 2009. The project value is estimated at around $7 million.
- Since 1994, Earthex Logistics has carried out the majority of HWE road haulage on a subcontract basis for its commitment for Main Roads WA and other clients, together with various mining works around Western Australia
- During 1999 we worked for six months in Brisbane with our side tippers on the South East Transit project
- Larger jobs with HWE have included projects from the Busselton Bypass (value $2 million) to Ripon Hills (Value $2.5 million)
- All jobs have been completed on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Recent contracts have included various levee upgrades back to design level (value $1million), the loading, hauling, washing and crushing of 120,000 tones of low-grade salt for export (value $750,000) and the creation of a new desalting pond in swampy terrain (value $800,000).
- The first operator to use side tipping road trains on-site at Nelson Point in Port Hedland, one of our first contracts was the building of the Bad Ore Car Return Rail Loop embankment
- Involving the blasting and ripping of limestone at Cargill Salt to provide material for the embankment, the process created a new desalting pond for Cargill - a win/win outcome for both companies
- The project on a method-specification basis was completed within project milestones and to the client's satisfaction at a contract value of $1.1 million.
- Prior to changes in State contracting, Earthex was a major supplier of equipment to the Pilbara division of MRWA.
- Earthex supplied road trains to MRWA and HWE in their construction work on the Karijini Road, linking Tom Price to the Great Northern Highway through the Karijini National Park.
- We hauled on a 24-hour basis for MRWA on a tight construction schedule and within strict environmental guidelines.
- Earthex has completed a major subcontract with BGC hauling around 70,000 tons) of seawall armour and core material of Finucane Island as part of the PACE Project for BHP Billiton
- The rock was used to form a seawall for dredge spoil to be placed behind with the imported material ranging in size from approx 1 m³ down to minus 200
- We were hired by BGC to provide roadtrain side tipper services on BHP Billiton Nickel’s Ravensthorpe Project.
